Whether you are a
manufacturer, importer/exporter, an International Freight
Forwarder or a company which manages its own international
transport, you will need cover for freight movement.
Cargo insurance encompasses the
transportation of goods by sea, air, rail and road within and
outside the UK. Under the majority of freight contracts,
the shipper must supply indemnities with regards to the
following objectives: • ownership of the goods • duties
and taxes • claims made against the forwarder in excess of
the liabilities provided for in the trading conditions •
the accuracy of the description of the goods • any failure
to warn (and the proper loading) of goods which may pollute
other goods • un-declared goods of a dangerous or
detrimental nature.
At Premiercare Insurance we have
strong expertise, good facilities and competitive rates for
cargo, goods insurance and marine cargo insurance across the
whole spectrum. We place general haulage (including
vehicles) for RHA, CMR and other conditions of carriage,
marine and storage risks.
Since the 15 January 2005, Freight Forwarders
have to be regulated by the FSA to be involved in any
part of the insurance process (advice selling claims
etc).
We have resolved that by making freight forwarders "Introducer
appointed representatives" whereby their clients
can be given our fax and phone no's. and discuss their
needs. This allows you to still receive your commission.
We have a binding authority which
caters for many types of goods, and for higher risk items
which may need to be referred to underwriters but can
usually be quoted and held covered within 48 hours.
Many clients graduate from placing cover
on an ad hoc basis to having their own marine cargo
policy which relates to their goods and their needs
specifically. The advantages to this are cover is automatic
usually with only an annual declaration and more competitive
rates
In addition If you are a freight forwarder,
haulier, container operator or warehouse keeper, you
will also require insurance to cover your legal liabilities
under your trading conditions for errors and omissions
and for loss for damage to goods in your control.
We provide independent insurance
